Individualize Your Teaching to Maximize Student Learning

Is your teaching practice evolving to include the right mixture of lectures and active learning strategies? Do you find yourself struggling to balance course content while implementing active learning exercises during class sessions? It is possible to do both, join us to learn how.

 

Todd Zakrajsekand Kathryn Smith will facilitate a multi-day institute to address the questions posed above, and more. You will determine how to transform a course, whether online or face-to-face, into a deep learning experience for your students. Grounded on the foundations of human learning theory (which you will also learn), you will determine how to best balance mini-lectures with active learning strategies through intentionally designed lesson plans to capture student attention, engage students with course materials, and improve student learning outcomes both inside and out of the classroom. This will be done in such a way for you to be well-prepared to adapt your teaching to keep your balance in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, and for both synchronous and asynchronous learning.
