Finding your Teaching Balance: Integrating Active Learning Strategies with Dynamic Lecturing

Update: March 11, 11:00pm EDT

Thank you to our Lilly Community for your kind words, understanding, and input providing direction in rescheduling this event.  Based on your feedback, the Institute for Finding Your Teaching Balance is being rescheduled for August 7th and 8th.  Details will be posted to the webpage soon.

Integrate Principles of Learning with Specific Teaching Strategies to Intentionally Improve Student Learning

Is your teaching practice evolving to include the right mixture of lectures and active learning strategies? Do you find yourself struggling to balance course content while implementing active learning exercises during class sessions? It is possible to do both.

Todd Zakrajsek, Ph.D., facilitates this two-day institute where you will experience how to transform a classroom into a deep learning experience for students. While learning the foundations of human learning theory, you will determine how best to balance mini-lectures and active learning strategies through intentionally designed lesson plans to capture student attention, engage students with course materials, and improve student learning outcomes both inside and out of the classroom.
