Steven C. Taylor is the director of academic innovation at the American Council on Education (ACE), the nation’s largest higher education organization representing college and university presidents from all sectors. He leads national initiatives around teaching and learning innovation, quality assurance, and flexible completion pathways. Through his work, Steven promotes strategies and solutions for postsecondary success that recognize all types of learning. Steven is the principal investigator on three significant postsecondary education practice and research grants and is an adjunct instructor in the College of Business at Wilmington University (DE) where he teaches and develops courses on experiential learning, training and development, and organizational development. He has worked for over a decade designing and delivering leadership development programs for students, university faculty and staff, and industry executives and professionals. Additionally, Steven has held leadership roles with several higher education organizations including: The Delphi Project on the Changing Faculty and Student Success at the University of Southern California; Center for Online Leadership at the University Professional and Continuing Education Association; Human Resource Management Program Advisory Board at Wilmington University; and working groups and advisory groups for Lumina Foundation and Gates Foundation.

Todd Zakrajsek, PhD, is the President of the International Teaching Learning Cooperative. He is also an Associate Professor and the Associate Director of the Faculty Development Fellowship in the University of North Caroline (UNC) School of Medicine. Todd founded or reconfigured, and then directed, centers for teaching and learning at UNC-Chapel Hill, Central Michigan University, and Southern Oregon University. He currently serves in leadership roles for several educational efforts, and sits on editorial boards for journals in the area of faculty development, effective instructional strategies, and student learning. Todd is an international speaker who is requested regularly for keynotes and has delivered presentations at approximately 300 campuses and teaching conferences, having published widely on the topic of effective teaching and student learning. His recently co-authored books include Dynamic Lecturing: Research-based Strategies to Enhance Lecture Effectiveness (Stylus Publishing, 2017); Teaching for Learning: 101 Intentionally Designed Education Activities to Put Students on the Path to Success (Routledge, 2015); and The New Science of Learning: How to Learn in Harmony with Your Brain (Stylus; 2013).
